I was thinking the same thing ladder13 !! ;)

The m43 & M351 are new catalog items and were introduced last January with different sku's. The new sku's are current even before any were produced. I spoke with Jeff in customer service last Friday, checking to see any production date for the 22's. He told me they would be coming "soon" and stated that the no lock guns were back by customer demand. I inquired about the no lock M642 CT to see which set of LaserGrips the factory was going to use, 305 or 405. He told me the 305's got the nod on that particular sku. For what its worth! Bob!

I have a no lock 351C. A couple showed up last week. I'd jump on a M&P 340 no lock.

An interesting tidbit; the firing pin on the 351C is positioned at the bottom of the chamber. I suppose the geometry of the centennial hammer is the reason.

I'd guess to get a No Lock Frame would just require it miss a couple of machine stations & get a few less parts, Should cost less really..
Good To Here.

Not buying the lock guns, advising shooters to avoid them, and getting them prohibited from agency use, both on and off duty, probably didn't hurt either. ;)

Nice to see lock free revolvers being produced again. Regards 18DAI.

During the S&W Collectors Association meeting in July, I personally talked with Ginger Chandler, S&W's VP for Product Development, about the wisdom of junking los seguridados estupidos y feos.

Accordingly, you can all thank me now that my request is beginning to be heeded :D

The previous comment about omitting a few machining operations and eliminating some parts is right on the mark. That can't be so difficult. They can very easily make them both ways, improving sales in the process. That's a no-brainer. S&W is beginning to see the light - finally.

That is great! I recently had to send in my 337Ti with a problem. They told me that they could not fix it, that it needed a new frame so I elected to have them replace it with a 340 M&P. Mine has a lock of course and my old 337Ti did not. Timing is everything I guess!

Can't help but wonder if they will offer the N-frame classics without locks? Those guns could sure benefit from not having a hole above the cylinder release.

Truer words have never been spoken. Maybe some Mountain Guns too. I need to start saving money!

I'ts not just the lock

I disagree. It isn't just the lock parts and the machining for the hole and slot. The profile of the frame where the hammer is, is different on the J and K frame guns. It has a flatter curve compared to the older guns, and just looks wrong. It's ugly, and just omitting the lock won't change that. They would have to go back to the original frame profile to make the guns acceptable to me.

The N frame guns don't have this problem, or if they've changed the profile it's so slight that I don't notice it. For those guns, they could just leave out the lock and it'd be okay.

I am going to be in so much trouble when the no-lock N-frames come out.

I guess my kid can pay for his own college education, just like I did.
