MOSQUITOES !!!!!!

It seems this year we have more mosquitoes than ever!
Is there anything that is relatively in-expensive that I can use in the yard so the wife and myself can sit outside for a little while and not get carried off!

I purchased a ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent device 2 years ago and won't go into Mosquito territory without it. I loaned it to a friend who lives next to a river loaded with the critters. He had the same experience as me, no bugs. Google search it, available at most stores for around $ 20 - $ 25. Has a range of about 15 feet, is best in no-wind conditions, and is good for approx. 12 hours before needing a refill.

I don't have a mosquito problem at my house, but one of my shooting Bud's has a terrible problem on his 25 acre home in the Berkshire Mountains. He uses one of those units (sorry I do not have the brand name) that attaches to a BBQ propane canister. It does a pretty good job of culling down the population and that in combination with the Therma-cell units recommended above, might be the way to go for a real bad problem.

When I go into the woods behind my house I spray myself with Deep Woods OFF which really does work well - although I truly don't like using it. I only go back there once or twice a year so I guess I'll deal with it.

Any sidearm that comes readily to hand should do it for you. You don't have to kill them all. Just identify a ringleader and make an example of him.

We have a lot of shub growth around the house and are usually plagued with skeeters, spiders and flying insects galore around the front door lights.

This year we got on quarterly contract with a 'bug guy' to spray the bushes and around the house.

We've been almost bug-less all spring to date. Well worth the money in my opinion.
