Awesome target bud. Since it is pumpkin season now you could use that as the head and make a face out of it. Maybe fill it up with something like paintballs/water/or something so it leaks out when shot? :eek:

I like shooting old empty computer cases. I put together computers as a hobby. So I have old computer cases I don't use anymore quite often.

My daughters were cleaning out their toys and had a pile of dolls for the trash (mostly Barbies, and one unlucky Justin Bieber doll). Of course I didn't let them throw 'em out... I can just imagine looking through the scope now: "We've got a hostage situation" :D
 
I like to fill and freeze 2L bottles then cut off the plastic and watch them explode.

Try an old phone book (do they even print those anymore?).

Its fun to dig out the bullet and to see how far they penetrated--not as far as you would think.
 
This thread was a great idea. I am starting to get my wife trained...before she throws anything out now she asks if I'd like to shoot it...eggs are the current favorite, I was taking care of my cousins chickens for a few days and didn't need any eggs...cheap and always replenished the next day.
 
I like filling empty dip cans up with water they blow up when you hit them or better yet secretly fill them with binary powder and let your bro in law shoot that one! Plus fill coke bottles with water and freeze them, you get to shoot them a lot longer and ice flies everywhere.
I got tired of walking to set up one or two cans so I took a 2x4 and a hole saw and screwed it on top my target holder.View attachment 86796
 
The bowling pins are great. We cut the head off of some with a band saw. Set the heads on top of the bodies and you have TWO targets. Shoot the head off first and knock the rest down afterwards.

Or shoot the body and then hit the head on its way down.

You can do the same with three or four dirt-filled cans - shoot the bottom and hit the rest as they fall. If one touches the ground without being hit, it is an invalid target.

2x2x2 wood blocks are good targets, too - or 4x4x4 if your eyesight is faulty. :D
 
Eggs are fun. Dozen for $1.00 at the 99 cent store. They explode if you hit them flush.

Also cheap soda (4 for $.99) shaken up well. Great spray when you hit the can.

I work for a small company that deals with parts for General Motors.

When we have back parts made (scrap), I have a mini section that I am going to be taking home throughout the week.

Plan on unleashing some stress from work by shooting parts from work haha
 
We get the little lawn markers, the wire stakes with the little plastic flag on them, from the hardware store and tie balloons to them. Benefit is after you shoot the balloon, you can try for the little flag. Works great cuz you can blow them up to whatever size. And you can get tha balloon animal balloons and shoot those. Make a little Bambi or leave it like a cylinder and try to hit it in the breeze. Either way, it's pretty fun hitting an entire field of targets that cost around 3 bucks before you have to go set more up. And if you put a little baby powder or something in the balloon before you blow it up, it's a little more reactive.

If its like any of the other walmart target stands etc etc..its cheap and a waste..looks fun though haha
 
Lots of great ideas, I think the cheapest thing to shoot at is air; sometimes the simple joy of making the gun go bang is fun in itself.
