Most reliable single stack micro?

The "best looking" thread on single stack micro pistols got me thinking. To anyone with direct experience: What's the most reliable single stack micro?

I am a fan of Kahr pistols and have several and owned several more. When I got my P380 I did have trouble with it but after I sent it back to Kahr twice on their dime It's been shooting good. I now carry a CM9 and have had no problems with it. You have to shoot these guns enough to get use to the trigger but now I can shoot pretty fast and stage the trigger. It's like shooting it singlr action. Don

Sorry Hawkeye but Kahrs are no were near reliable. They have some of the worst track record out there. I have had three. I still have my PM9. It went back 3 times. It works now and is dead nuts accurate.We will not discuss the others. Not just my experience, LGS has many many complaints.

My XDs has been flawless, SW 3913 (not really micros)

What caliber?? If we are taking Mouse guns then that is a whole other topic, I mean real mouse guns that fit in a pocket. Like a Seecamp or a LCP., NAA Guardian (heavy but always works)

Kahr in 9 works good for me. It is important to break it in with a couple hundred rounds.

Flawless performance after break-in period - my P9 Covert (P9's 3.5" barrel/slide on PM9s 6-round frame) was the same, but had to have its mag release replaced, so this slightly smaller one wins the nod. These were actually slightly more reliable than the larger Walther PPS insofar as that gun was iffy with 147-grainers.

Howdy,
I'll vouch for the XD-S. It is about as micro as a .45 gets. It is fairly easy to shoot well and mine has not stuttered in the least with Rem 230 HP+P or 230 grain cast hardball equivalent reloads.
I have not had it that long but I expect it is around the 275-300 round mark.

Wow... talk about a subjective question. People have different experiences with almost everything... There already are examples in this thread where one person says a certain brand pistol is great and then another person in a subsequent post has bad experience(s) with the same brand and model. Throw in size and different opinions as to what caliber a "micro" pistol even is 380, 9mm, 45? Size? Weight? However, I hope you find the information you're looking for.

I don't think you are going to get an answer...well, you will get lots of opinions, but there are far too many variables to get a consensus (such as skill of the shooter, ammo, magazines, maintenance, etc.) There are some brands that I would say are far more likely to be problematic, like Taurus, but even Taurus has fans (masochists, most likely... )

I think the best you can do is read the forums and reviews, and see what the general trend about a particular gun is...but even then, people are far more likely to post a negative review than a positive review. Then the best thing you can do is buy a gun made by a reputable company, one who is generally recognized for good QC and CS, and then it still depends on your individual gun.

While at one time, the M1911 was king of the freeway stoppages, it has evolved to become the King of Single Stackers...so long as you keep with the government and Commander sized models; anything smaller in size, and you invite trouble.

I don't know which is best, but my Kahr CW 9 has been flawless for a lotta years. Carries well too.

My Kahr PM9 has also been flawless in function. Very high quality, great trigger & sights, and very accurate. IMO, can't beat the size and performance. And I've had the same experience with my P380 and CW45. YMMV.

I picked up a Keltec PF9 and ran 200 rounds of WWB fmj through it first thing. It never failed to feed and runs with anything now.

My dad has a Sig P238. It's been really reliable for him so far and it shoots very accurate. It hides well too. I'm thinking about the 9mm version of it.

I have a Seecamp in .32 acp. It runs flawlessly with Speer Gold Dots.

My daughter took my SIG 238, it has been flawless too if you want a smaller caliber. So have the several Ruger LCP's in the family.

Heres one,it looks like a piece of crud,feels like a piece of crud and priced like a piece of crud. However it shoots like a champ, what pray tell is this champion crud master? A Kel Tek PF-9. Yeah it surprised me too,after a lot of pondering I figured what the heck its only $245.00 and if it is as I suspect a piece of crud maybe I can unload it on some other idiot. Took it home and gave it a "fluff&buff" and a good cleaning and lube and gave it a go. Well it works just fine with standard pressure 9mm hollow point ammo with fairly good accuracy to boot. It only choked on Speer 9mm 124gr Gold Dot +P, the slide velocity is a bit too fast to pick up the next round out of the mag, perhaps a stiffer recoil spring would fix that. What the heck,its a small,slim,light,locked breech eight shot 9mm a nice step up from a .380. And yes I am too lazy to take a pic!

I always like the looks of the PF 9. I had one and it worked fine. The grip serrations are very aggressive and chewed up my dainty hands I put a piece of inner tube on it.

Isn't that the gun that what's his name used when he shot the other what's his name? as we shall not discuss it.

Here are some facts:

My LCP blew up in my hand on the 3rd round out the barrel....I sent it back and in less than a week got it returned. it has not failed in any way since.

My 32NAA Guardian has never failed since new.

Those are what I consider "micro" or so called Pocket/mouse guns.

I have a Kahr PM45 that has never failed since new and is very accurate. I just got a Kimber Solo, haven't shot it much but so far it is the most accurate of all and hasn't missed a beat yet. I dont really consider these guns "micro" but I guess for a 45 and a 9mm.....

Colt Mustang Pocketlite is one and Kimber Solo in 9mm is the other micro that I have had zero problems with. I wouldn't call a Shield or an XDS a Micro. Those are compacts. Sig P938 or P238 are micros. Most pocket .32's are micros and the .25ACP the Baby Browning.
I think the word micro needs a definition in itself in order to anwser the question with any intelligence.
