motorcycles and ccw

Most of my riding was on one of these, but off-duty, I carried a Galco (then *******) shoulder rig. It kept the gun high enough that if my jacket or shirt blew up, it normally wouldn't be revealed. If I was riding today, it would still be my choice.

Check out the Hide-It Holster. It sits below your belt line behind your pocket, and the holster bends so it is comfortable when sitting. I carry with one all the time.

I can't see that being comfortable with a big revolver :)
High and tight in a pancake under the jacket will be the
first method I try. Shoulder holster will be the second. My jacket is pretty long.

Got an inside pocket inside my MotoGp textile jacket that works for a Commander - doesn't "print" -- anything larger travels in a butt pack or the tank bag

I carry my Glock 23 in an MTAC or my SW 1911ES in a UBG both IWB. Never had a problem. Went down while carrying my G23. Gun stayed in place and is very comfortable for riding all day in the heat!

I dont technically drive a motorcycle on the road.... yet. But I do go trail riding on a quad and since Im going through all kinds of terrain I use a camel pack that I have rigged to quick release my left strap so it swings around and I have a cord strapped to the zipper to quickly open the bag. sure it takes way longer to draw than IWB but It keeps my 629 classic clean and dry, I can also carry extra ammo. just thought I'd chime in for those who might be doing long trips or like the dirty roads too.

The issue here is crossing state lines while riding. My CCW permit in PA is good for WV, but not OH. Once in OH I have to open carry.

But lets say its freaking cold and I have leather plus a hoodie under that, how the hell will I open carry, stuffing all that material between my hip rig and body, or expose my shoulder rig?

I was attacked by three guys while sitting stopped at an intersection one day. Apparently they thought they needed my bike more than I did. They got some good licks in before I decided to run the red light. Another good reason to wear a helmet. If I had not been wearing the helmet I would almost certainly have been knocked unconcious. I think he broke his hand. My gun was in a tail bag on the bike. I will never leave a gun in or on a vehicle again. ALWAYS keep your gun on your person where you can get to it quickly, never on the bike.
