Mountain Gun Addition

Love Mountain guns. First, the idea of a handgun is a light easy to carry gun. Why make them heavier except for sole use of targets and plinking. Next, the follow the lines of the true classic Smiths.

I have a couple 629 I rebarreled and reamed to 45 colt. Both currently have the full length under lug, one 4" and 1 5" but I just ordered a set of corner rounding end mills and someday the extra hunk of useless shroud will be going in the scrap pile.

Congrats!

Also a big Mountain Gun/Revolver fan - love the tapered barrel.
These are my lastest examples:

625-6 .45 Colt Mountain Gun. $1000 NIB 2017
629-2 .44 Mag Mountain Revolver. $650 LNIB 2017

THAT'S QUITE ALRIGHT, sw282, NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE. YOU ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINIONS.....

AT LEAST, YOU WON'T BE BIDDING AGAINST ANY OF US MOUNTAIN GUN LOVERS, ON ANY GUN AUCTION SITES.....

Just a friendly reminder: if you turn off caps lock it does'nt seem like you are SHOUTING ;)

Nice find on the 629 Mountain Gun. Currently I have two, a 625 and 686+. I appreciate they way the MG tapered barrel N frame carries, and used the 625 on duty for several years. The S.O. I worked for removed revolvers from the authorized handgun list shortly before I retired. I stumbled onto the 686 last year, while looking for something else.
