Send it back to S&W and note what it's doing. This is not something to take lightly, as it's a felony to have a weapon shooting in anything but semi auto if it was manufactured after 1985. Even if it's a malfunction, doesn't matter, people have went to jail for less!

Same thing happened to mine after they replaced the ejector. Sent it back and they changed the springs. Shoots perfect now. Not one problem in my last outing, about 500 round session.

put it in a box asap and send it to s&w do not fire it again... SEND IT BACK... that weapon in now in vilation of the nfa.. according to the batfe... even thow its a malfuntion... yes i know thats crazy but thats what ya get when the government can do whatever it wants...

Had a double one time when the hammer pin walked out far enough to cause the hammer to sit at enough of an angle that it did not get hooked by the disconnector. Pretty easy to diagnose that one!!

Mine was doubling and tripling too! sent it back to s&w they updated with new springs. Have fired it 2500 rds since and had no problems.

Mine did the same thing with Remington Thunderbolts. I have never used that ammo since and the problem has never returned. A simple fix. What kind of ammo were you using?

suprise suprise was trying to use up a carton of remington thunderbolts they also seem to smoke like crazy

I also had that prior to being sent back to S&W
After I got it back it has not done it again

I would still send it to S&W to (1) make sure it's up to spec and (2) cover your hinder legally.

amen.. if this had happened and you switch ammo and the hotter ammo made the gun fully cycle and not slam fire then id say shoot the better ammo... but you posted it on a forum.. so id send it back.. but thats just me.. and i dont want to give big brother any reason to give me a hard time....

Awesome, can someone say 15-22A2, three round burst FTW.

Just kidding guys. Seriously, you don't want the kind trouble this could bring. Contact S&W ASAP and get that thing out of your hands. The sooner the better.

ANY semi-automatic rifle can be fired with a 2-3 round burst. It's a technique that was taught to Nicaraguan Contras during the Reagan Presidency, for use with the semi-auto AKM-47 rifles from Hungary, that Oliver North was providing to them.

You may be inadvertently firing your rifle, using this method without realizing it.

There are other names for this trick, which I will NOT post, and I hope other forum members don't post or explain how to do it.

If you can get YouTube to cooperate, then no one else will know how to do it. I learned a couple different ways to do it while in the Army in 1966. That's why I always wear britches w/ belt loops.

firing in bursts without trying - that's scary from a legal stand point as many others have already commented. definitely send it in immediately.
I for one would love to own a burst or full auto 15-22, but it's impossible due to federal laws............so I'll keep enjoying it one shot at a time.
hope they repair and return it quickly.

well finally got around to taking it apart and checking everthing man was it filthy the thunderbolt cases were coming out black but it has had about 3500 rnds with out any cleaning took it out and switched back to federal bul and shot 500rnds not one single problem will shoot some more and if the problem comes back well then it gets a trip back

Thats the fix I used. No trips to S&W, just a bunch of trips to Wally World. Mine has fired over 4500 rounds since the Thunderbolts and not one multiple fire since. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Good Choice.
