MP Sport trigger

Long story short I need a much better trigger in my Sport.
Is there a drop in trigger or what are you guys doing to make the trigger MUCH snoother and to break like glass. I was doing some prairie dogs and at 200yards the stock trigger is horrible.

Caveat: Your Mileage May Vary

I searched YouTube for "AR Trigger Job" and watched all sorts of videos on polishing a stock AR combat trigger.

I ordered JP Enterprises "Yellow" reduced power trigger springs. I then slowly and carefully polished the trigger on my own. Polish a little, install the trigger with the reduced power springs, test it. I did this over and over until it was just right.

I did this on both my AR's. Here's a video I originally made to show Grover my handiwork. This is my Franken-AR with the aforementioned work completed.

It's no two-stage trigger or custom tuned trigger. For the $10 in springs, $1 in polishing supplies, and elbow grease (and a little swearing), it works just fine. The trigger is lighter, crisper, and I can feel exactly when the trigger is about break.

Geisselle two stage trigger is what I would use. Its easy to install yourself.

I have an old Clinton ban AR and did the trigger job JaPes is talking about along with one to reduce creep Junk Yard Genius.com AR-15/M-16 Pages, page 1. and it is much better.
I run a RRA national match 2 stage on my sport and it rocks! Had a chance to shoot it side by side with a Geisselle SSA-E and the only difference I noticed was the Geisselle had a lighter 1st stage.

Really?!? Well then, they've made some improvements since I bought mine. There are a number of drop in triggers (do a search). However, I went with a JP Enterprises trigger. It is far from drop in. But I learned a fair amount watching the videos and installing the trigger. And it came out great. If you can spare an hour or two, it's a great way to go. And it's about 1/2 price of most drop in triggers.

I am really happy with the polishing job I did on my trigger. It really helped in the longer range shots. Before that it was just a traditional AR trigger. But the trigger improvements, no matter which way you go will help a ton!

I have put in JR Spring on my Hammer Only on Mine... still was a Big Difference. Have the set of Yellows to put in when I get motivated again...

I could really tell the difference, when i do pull it I will also do a polish job on it....

That Said i love my Timney Drop in Trigger on my 15-22.... just dont think it's needed on the Sport

Have you looked at ALG defense? The company was started by the wife of Geisselle. I have the ACT and it is much smoother than stock. It's just a mil spec trigger that has been massaged by Geisselle. It is nickle boron coated I believe and very smooth. For the price you really can't beat it.

I have been doing a lot of research on triggers because I need something better than the stock trigger on my OR.

I have decided on the Geissele SD-E for my choice.

Now I just have to come up with the $200+ to purchase it.

We are looking at NE around Tulsa, I went to college there and have lots of friends there plus children and grandchildren. Hoping to find a place out west of tulsa but not to far where we can get some acreage and water.
we drove through SW Ok a month and a half ago headed down south of Lawton and it was just as bad as SW Kansas

I put Giessele SSA-Es in both of my M&P Sports, and am very happy with them.
The stock triggers were horrible, especially if trying to get the accuracy that the Sport is very capable of.

But ....... if I was doing it again I would first give Oneyeopen's procedure a try.
Heck ........ if you decide later it isn't what you want, or have concerns that lapping the sear might remove the hardened metal sear's surface, and might reduce the sears life/re-introduce creep back again over time, you still have a much better than stock trigger for a period of time (which may be longer than some might think) for under something like $15, and IMHO ...... that's money well spent.
