'Afternoon all,

If you had a day, maybe two max in Pittsburgh, what would be the important places to go, things to see, restaurants to eat at, etc? Any input appreciated.

Thanks,
Danny

The Carnegie Museum in Oakland, block house at the point, submarine on North side. If you go to Oakland get a hot dog and fries at the Original a few blocks from the museum.

like already said Primanti Bros., the incline, carnegie museum/science center, the zoo if you are interested in animals or have kids.

primanti bros sandwich for sure! duquesne incline, heinz museum, carnegie.

All of the above.....+ Church Brewery (micro brewery & restaraunt in an old church in Bloomfield section of the city----right across the street from the old Pgh Brewing Co). Bloom's Cigars on the South Side (if you smoke 'em). Breakfast at DeLucas in the Strip District (if you don't mind waiting in line to get in)....or freshly fried fish/seafood from the kitchen at Wholey Fish Co....also in the Strip District.

Thanks for all the input everyone! I ended up with just part of an evening and then the next morning. I went walking around downtown on the river and took some pictures of the bridges, stadiums, etc, then to the Primanti Bros on the Southside for dinner (hot pastrami with fried egg and the works!) and wandering around there a little. I spent the next morning exploring the Carnegie Natural History and Art museums. Wow, what wonderful collections! I could have spent all day there.

On another note, even my Wilderness Frequent Flyer belt was not safe from the TSA. On my outbound flight it was fine, but the TSA in Pittsburgh would not let me go into the machine to be scanned with it on.

Stupidly I did not take a real camera and just took all the pictures with my phone. I need to fix the color and contrast on most of them to clean them up. Here are the sammich pics!

did you enjoy the "sammich"? primantis is the only place we eat the few times a year that we make the 2 hour trip to the 'burgh...

just to throw this out since there is some steelers memoribia posted, i have a lot of the old mcdonalds steelers glasses that i do not want...if anyone is interested, i can take some pics and we'll talk about a price...

Personally, I would have hit Fatheads for a sandwich before Primanti's.

You can't beat the Expert Pastrami in my book. The homemade potato chips are great dipped in a side of their original hot sauce.

Warm weather sitting outside at the Doublewide Grill is a good time too.
