Well, it started off as a hunt for a M19 6" to compliment my SW-17. I new an LGS had one in that was supposed to be good so I went to have a look at it. Sadly it was good and someone got there before me. Just as I was about to turn and walk dejectedly out of the store, the owner said: "Here, you'll like this" and handed me a 25-5 in .45 Colt: he wasn't wrong...

So, my first centre-fire revolver is a little exotic and not what I envisioned but anyway, here goes the proof (pics or it didn't happen right?):

I know it's a cliche but: "BOY DOES IT FEEL GOOD IN THE HAND!"

Well, took it to the range today and shot it for the first time. Awesome stuff. Very happy with the groups and trigger. Sweet sweet sweet DA trigger too.

As most of us know, buying old Smiths is a slippery slope. But yours just got steeper, cause now you're going to have to start reloading to feed that .45 Colt.

That is a nice one! :) You'll have a lot of fun with it. Not mean to shoot like a 44 Magnum but still enough boom that you will know you are not shooting a 38 Special.

Speaking of reloading, don't try to make a 44 Magnum out of it. Most people seem to agree an S&W in .45 Colt can handle a properly loaded 250 at 1000 FPS, but not much more. That gun also will most likely benefit from the biggest bullet you can put in it, so don't be afraid to check .454" bullets for fit in the cylinder exit-bores.

Congrats on your new gun - and keep looking for that 19. ;)
