Hello, I have a M&P-15 lower on a .50 beowulf upper, I literately just noticed, It has no caliber stamp on it, Why is this? I am assuming it's because I ordered the lower alone.

Yup. That lower could be mated to any caliber AR rifle upper or pistol upper. The manufacturer has no idea what you're going to do with it.

Pretty sure my m&p15 complete rifle doesn't have it there either. Barrel only.

None of the lowers I have seen have a cal stamp on them...they are on the barrels

The lower on my CMMG Quebec-A is stamped "multi-caliber". And the Sport is stamped as "Model M&P-15", but no caliber. Some will have a caliber marking on the lower. Bushmaster marked the lower with a caliber in the past, but not sure about their recent firearms.

Like others have said, it should always be on the barrel.

I was just looking at buying a bolt action 50 Cal upper. Best bang for your buck to own a 50.

Makes sense, since the upper is the part that's caliber-specific—the lower can be used with any (AR-platform) upper.

Perhaps the lower should be stamped "STANAG 4179," indicating it accepts magazines complying with the NATO Standard. That would at least minimize confusion between AR-15/M16/M4 lowers and AR-10 7.62 lowers! :)

I've seen some lower's stamped .223/5.56, others stamped multi cal (spike's), and I haven't seen a M&P stamped with anything yet.

No caliber stamp on my new MP15 either. Funny thing is the instruction manual (first AR15, so I did read it :D) makes a big deal of making sure you know what caliber the gun is by checking the stamp on the lower receiver!.
