Last spring I bought my AAA S/N Model 586 no-dash with a 6" barrel & a patridge sight blade. It also had a nasty turn line and a ton of wear on the grips.
Here is how it looked when I bought it:
I realized that I don't like patridge sights, and I don't like 6" barrels. I also hated the prominent turn line, and the finish was rough. Plus, it had an excessive amount of slop in the cylinder. (Looking back, why the heck did I buy it?
)
Being stubborn, I was determined to restore this gun to glory, so I sent it off to the Mothership for some TLC, a new barrel with a red-ramp, and a re-blue. I also had picked up a nice set of grips from a fellow Forum member for it.
At the factory, it got a MIM
Cylinder Stop, and a new Oversized Hand.
So now my AAA No-dash has MIM, a new style barrel, and a re-blue (the horror!
).
After several months at the factory, and a pile of money, she finally came home today. As soon as I opened the box, I swapped out the rear sight with a white outline & put the new grips on.
Only problem is now, she's almost too pretty to shoot... Almost.
Here is my finished 586 no-dash project gun:
Now I have no-dash "twins".
Please excuse my sorry photography.
