Did you even shoot the stock rifle? I get a kick out of people who buy their first AR15 and think they need to instantly upgrade all the parts and buy an optic.
Wow you have almost a complete rifle in your parts bin. I too would like to know how much you have shot the rifle? It looks like the only thing missing is the Ni-Bo coated BCG, Magpul B.A.D. lever, ambi safety and ambi Mag release. Cant wait to see the pics!!
very cool....I would recommend a BAD lever, you will find it is really handy at the firing line or hunting. I find it really nice to be able to operate the bolt lock with the trigger finger instead of having to move my left hand back. My wife is a lefty and she finds it also easier to be able to release the bolt with her trigger finger also.
Tom it is a lever that attaches to the bolt release that allows you to operate it with your trigger finger. Cedaredge, I like that little town...been there many times. Lived 12 years in Redstone.
And ohbejuan, I may tease you a bit but my MSR's are also highly modified. My pocket is just not as deep as yours but if it was I would probably be the same way.
This one is pretty mild compared to what they have been.
I'm not new to guns but I am to AR's. You say this is info for newcomers and we know you are just joking? But I wonder how many newbies you have scared away with those prices? We are trying to win converts here you know.
I'm waiting to see the pictures. Close-ups showing all this stuff.
I'm not like the OP, I like a good optic that doesn't break the bank, and accessories that are useful like a sling, or a bipod for long shots in the field. A good case to carry the gun, and a couple good ammo boxes. I'm more minimalistic.
Designer flash suppressors? Not my style. But if it gets more sales and more people involved I'm all for it!
When I first started playing with my Sport, I actually had a few "custom" made muzzle brake/flash suppressors made. over a 3 month period I experimented with them and factory made ones. I discovered that each one changed my point of impact differently with some of them not even consistently changing it. I still have a drawer full and ended up using a thread protector for the most consistent accurate shooting plus it reduced my sound signature tremendously. If anyone wants to try it they will find the same thing. I have never used minute of bad guy as my guide. Minute of prairie dog is what I go by. I have associates that have tried it and discovered the same thing so it is food for thought.
I own a 2007 GYTR Yamaha Raptor 700 (ATV). Purchased new in 2007 for close enough to $10k. I rode it stock for a while, and then customized everything from the roota to the toota! Quad now has over $19,000 in it. I know it was silly to put so much into a quad, but it was my main hobby at the time. I don't race professionally on it, but it didn't stop me from adding an additional 30hp to it with no bore or stroke. I don't care what kind of big block you have, nothing beats this thing in the eighth mile, and could give most trouble in the full quarter.
I could go on for days about it, but my point is, I did it the way I wanted it. I always planned from day one of riding it, to keep it forever. Not interested in selling, as I know I will never get my cash back out of it. But it's a priceless feeling to be on your way to one of the biggest riding parks in the south east, and actually have traffic slowing down to take picture of your finished quad on the trailer. Actually arriving to the park, and turning the heads of close to 2,000 people is the icing on the cake... Kudos to you Ohbejuan! I am just as passionate and particular concerning my hobbies as well. Now get some pics up!!!
