My favorite Remington rifle

Almost forgot!
When I stopped hunting I sold most of my larger cal rifles, including several Rems. Only kept my Carl Gustaf.
But I do have one remaining Remington .
It's a 22. The Model 34.
The one with the lift up Loader.
My Buddy Milt gave it to my Son with really old unusable Weaver scope.
I installed a Cheapie scope and away we go.
It's a Tack Driver!

OK, AJ, here's one of mine from February too. The surprise was CCI-SV and cold bore. Five shot, 50 yds. Center to center .227"

Not a Remington or a Winchester, but a Kimber 82G. Sold it, maybe should have kept it?

Probably the best I ever shot. 0.167" center to center. Not that good anymore, he** to get old!!

I only have two Remingtons. A #6 and a #4 .22s. They were very quality little rifles in their day. Notice the little sheet metal peep sight on the #6.

I have an old Rolling Block that was octagon barrel 25rf. Got in early 60s when in Jr Hi. Barrel was complete loss so had a new 513T barrel put on. Won many a Turkey Shoot with it. One shoot outlawed it. They said having two peep sights wasn't fair. At 100' it will drive the X every time. If you didn't know it was once octagon barrel it would be hard to tell. 513T round barrel fit forearm without modification.

Very nice to see these vintage Remingtons. Enjoying my three which include a 700, Model Four in .270, and my favorite the 1100 TB for Trap shooting. Great bluing and walnut back then.

I have a Carl Gustaf CG-63, it is my favorite of the few big bores that I have left.

My old Model 725 in 280 Rem. Practically given to me in a pawn shop back in the 80s. Someone had taken black enamel paint to the metal, brown enamel to the stock, and heavy varnish to the whole thing. Took me a long time to clean it up, but it was well worth it. BTW, under all the goop, I discovered absolutely no obvious reason for its desecration.

Put many deer on the meat pole with Remington .35cal in the auto & pumps. 8-81-14& my favorite slayer 141. No better rifles for hunting thickets and taking deer on the wing.

I like any 788 and the model 14 / 14 1/2 pumps . I have a 788 carbine in .243 , several model 14's in .35 and .32 and a model 25 in .25 WCF . Still looking for an affordable 14 1/2 .

I only have one myself but it`s a really nice first year Mountain Rifle in .280 Remington.

I have probably close to a dozen 700 variants, to include 721s and 7s. I used to buy really rough rusted up guns out of the villages when I lived in Alaska. They were usually corroded to the point of uselessness but they were cheap and I was working as a gunsmith. I'd clean them up and bead blast the action, toss the barrels and triggers and rebarrel with custom blanks. Mostly to oddball calibers that I wanted to try, 222mag, 7TCU, 300 Savage. They're all very accurate rifles that see use in the hunting fields.

When my son was little bitty I had a 721 in 270 that I'd bought and put away for him. We noticed that he was showing a preference for his left hand so I swapped it for a 760 in 300Sav so I could convert the safety to LH operation. Turned out he's not a lefty so it didn't matter. He's 7 now and shot his first deer last fall with a 223, but he's sure that there isn't a beast that roams the earth he cannot slay with his mighty 300 Savage! I got a shortened stock for it and we're going to start with some reduced cast bullet loads this summer to get ready for deer and elk season this year.

But my far and away favorite is my late production M30R. It's a 30/06, had a chance to buy its twin in 257 but I could only afford one. It's easily a 95 percent condition gun and shoots wonderfully. I usually load 150s at pedestrian speeds both due to the checkered steel butt plate as well as to be gentle with the probably irreplaceable stock. Being late production it has the bolt guide rib, cock on opening, single stage trigger, and the very well designed Whelen stock.

Only have one. A Model 572 Fieldmaster. Dad taught us how to shoot wback in the day (1965) with one. Don't know what happened to that rifle but I looked for a similar one for several years in great condition at a reasonable price and finally got it at a local auction. A very accurate rifle! Always wanted a Nylon 66 as a kid but never got one. As you can see it goes to the range often!

I have four (4). A model 41 targetmaster, a model 582 (my first firearm), a model 66, and a model 700 in .270.

My 582 would top the list as a favorite.

I'm going old school with my favorite Remington rifle. It's of the 4 rolling blocks I own 2 #4's and 2 #2's. It's my 32-20 number 2 then my 22lr number 4.

You just LOVE to torment me with that .32-20 RB, don't you?

I'd love to have an 8 or an 81 in .35 Rem a local shop had one in .32 Rem with a few boxes of ammo for $895.
I think they are cool looking rifles.
For a rimfire I'd say a 572BDL.
