I had seen examples of these Austin Police Department Model 27-2's in the past, so I worked a deal today to bring this one to its new home...A 3 1/2" version with 3 T's, I really don't think it's seen a downrange shot since leaving the factory...It's marked APD 521 under the left cylinder window as others I've seen...This one is getting lettered...:D...Ben

Nickel 3 1/2" M27

Mine is # APD 542, some where I have a copy of the property card with a list of all the officers (4) It was issued to. I think it is in the box with the revolver but I'm not going to dig it out of the safe tonight. I think the last officer was a Sargent. I bought it 20 years ago for $350.00 Off a Westlake Police Officer that was changing his interest from S&W collecting to Cowboy Action competition. Every one of these APD guns I've seen were pretty mint.

I hope to get some provenance like that for mine, Lyle...This is now the third gun in my assortment with a proven LEO connection...I guess I could group them in with the "guns of elected officials" assortment until construction is completed on the new wing of my museum...It's getting a little crowded in there......Ben
