I really said this a few months ago. I'm not buying any more guns. I've got more than I know what to do with, and do not have room in the safe for another, and no room for another safe, so no more.
We've probably all said that. But I meant it. I had even pretty much stopped going by the gun store. Until a couple of days ago, my wife and I decided to stop and just visit with the crew and such. I wasn't even thinking about another gun.
Still I had to make a pass down the used gun side of the kiosk. Just the usual run of the mill J-frames, a new Python, and various and sundry plastic semi-auto. M&P's, Glocks and such.
But in the bottom of one case I saw something different. I knew it was a CZ so I asked to see it. It was a CZ 75 B Omega Convertable. Now that's a mouthful for a gun name.
An all steel conventional DA/SA 9mm "Wondernine" I suppose. The B means it's had a hammer block safety installed, the Omega means it has a redesigned trigger. The convertable part means you can change it over from a DA/SA with a decocker, to a safety that allows cocked and locked carry. Parts included in the box.
It had the box, two magazines, all the papers and such. Copy of the test target was dated 1/14/2019, so I suppose that's about when it was made. Oh, the magazines are steel, with a 16 round capacity.
So much for "no more guns."
It's heavy. Way to heavy for me to think about carrying it, but I've got other guns for that. This one will be just for use at the range from time to time. The grip is as I've always heard very nice, as is the trigger. One thing I liked was it didn't have a rail. I suppose a rail is handy on a gun that's to be used for serious purposes, but I much prefer the look without one.
It was a used gun, but if it's been fired outside the factory I can't tell it. When I cleaned it, I used one patch and it never really got dirty. Just as clean as a hounds tooth.
I got no idea what these things sell for, but I got it for $570.00. Seemed a fair price to me these days.
I rearranged the safe and made room for one more. But this is the last one!
