I have been collecting smith and wesson revolvers for a while now and have always wanted to own a registered magnum. They were always too much for me to afford. I could always find something else that I had to have while I was saving money. A few months ago I decided that I would sell a few revolvers that I did not use to purchase the gun I always wanted.

The search was tiresome, found probably 10 or so RM on line and they were always either drastically overpriced for a refinished or a chopped barrel or way more money than I was willing to pay for a gun that was correct. I negotiated with mokuloa (great experience btw) and purchased my first RM. I hope to own others in the future but it is a lot of money to lay out for a gun.

REG 3671 shipped April 11, 1938 to Abercrombie and Fitch, It has a 6.5 inch barrel, call gold bead front sight, original ropper grips (though they were not shipped with the gun) and correct box. It is not in perfect condition but it is an original finish and it is mine.

That is a real beauty. That's a great start.

What a beauty. Very much congrats with this fine revolver. I perfectly understand what you are feeling right now. It is the same feeling when I get my Webley Fosbery I never expected to own. I hope that this revolver is very long in your possesion.

Good for you, a very nice example! I've often thought about selling a few off to get what I really would like to have, congratulations for haveing the nerve to do it. I just hate to let go of em but this fine example may just kick me off the fence.

I have a saying, I can own them all, just not all at once. My only rule when selling a gun is the sale should only be to fund the purchase of an even nicer gun. Never sell one two buy two, always sell two to buy one.

How was it sighted in at the factory? Love the Ropers! Once you get one you will want more its an addiction!! Dale Z in Cananuck Land!

That is what a .357 Magnum should be. Do not hesitate to shoot that beautiful revolver, and please give a report when you do so. Congratulations!

Mighty nice.
Good for you.
I LOVE the Ropers. I have quite a fondness for them anyway, but I never liked thumbrests like many have. That's a very neat pair. I've seen fewer without the ribbon than I have with it.

Someday, maybe, I will own a RM. That is a very nice one and congrats on the find!
