Hi, everyone. I just picked up my first S&W today. I got a 380 Bodyguard (serial EBPXXXX). In truth, this is my first semi-auto pistol (I already own a 357 revolver). I love the concealability (is this a word?) of this pistol. This is why I bought it.

While I was at the gun shop, I put about 50 rounds through it at their indoor range. I did NOT have any misfires, jams, or issues at all. I did not test the accuracy of the laser and only used the built-in sights.

The shots from my first two magazines were all over the target, and even missed once. This was to be expected, however, as I was not familiar with the gun and its extra long trigger pull. The first magazine I caught myself jerking the gun as I anticipated the trigger well before I should have. You must pull steadily and smoothly. That said, my last magazine grouping gives much optimism:

On a 10.25" diameter target, at around 7 yards, three shots were within the 2.5" center bullseye (if the line counts), two more were within the next 1" ring, and the final was just inside the third 1" ring. The grouping maximum was 2.75". See the attached image. The 2s you see on the attached image correspond to the second (final) magazine of my shoot, and the 1s refer to the magazine immediately before. As you can see, I even shot a few bulls-eyes with my penultimate magazine (the 1s).

Of course, this is not the best by any stretch of the imagination, and we can chalk it up to user error/inexperience. However, it bodes well considering it was the 8th magazine ever shot out of this pistol. My groupings got noticeably tighter as I got more familiar with the pistol. The bullets were PMC bronze 90 grain.

I look forward to more training with this pistol.

Congrats on your new pistol. I had one too and if you do your job, you can be very accurate with the BG380 as you proved. My laser was dead on out of the box, but if it's not, it's very easy to adjust. The adjustment tool is located with the lock??? You might want to make sure the screw that holds the laser unit is tight, not too tight as you may strip the screw head. Enjoy.

Thanks! I will double checked the screw after cleaning, and it should be a habit.

Just got back from my local GS where I took my concealed course and fired a few more rounds in the range. Attached is my most recent grouping. I'd say this little thing is pretty accurate out of the box.

I shot 13 bullets into the following target only using the factory sights, no laser:

I too have the BG380 and have had 0 problems with it. Be careful though as someone else has said a many a time on this site, those S&W Auto's are addicting.
