My first Scotchbrite "restoration"

Looks very nice. Would the results be the same with an alloy lower? Is it safe to do on my 3913? GARY
Nope! Only works on stainless. Try it on anodized aluminum and I think you'll be very disappointed. :(

Is there any way to get similar results on an alloy lower? GARY
An alloy frame can be stripped, prepped and re-anodized. I looked into it and decided that it was not a super-great idea. It wasn't so much the cost. Rather, it was the fact that the frame would be slightly weakened by the process. And, in the end, it would still be a refinished gun with a lower refinished gun value. :o

The other option, of course, is Cerakote. Personally, I'm not a painted gun kind of guy no matter how good it might be... so I dropped the idea and now I only go for anodized aluminum frames that are in pristine perfect condition. :)

A fine job. I much prefer the "brushed" look, as opposed to a high polish, anyway. (Not that it matters what I prefer - it's your gun.)

Exactly why I have come to love stainless hand guns !
