The first link.

Does anyone really believe that the writer of the ad did not know of the connection?

The second link.

They should have paid the guy for his time and effort.

Re the second link: Obstructing official business? They must be talking about the business of officially not mowing the grass.

.

I bet if I ask my 14 year old nephew what those 4 presidents have in common, he'd know right off hand.

Can't remember exactly where I was, but a week or two ago I watched a local newscast where the Mayor was asking citizens to come to the park with mowers, weedeaters, trashbags, etc. and help clean up, as the city couldn't afford it. Maybe this guy should move there.

I'd be seriously surprised if anyone actually "edits" the classifieds for content. Probably some minimum wage guy just transcribing the info for the add into the computer to be printed. He may be advised to delete sexually explicit, etc. adds, but political assassination, probably "above his pay grade"!

I think that city was Toledo, Ohio. The guy that got arrested had seen the appeal on tv and thought it applied to his community as well. It didn't.

Re: second link:
It doesn't surprise me that someone taking want ads didn't know that all the presidents on that list had been assassinated. People come out of school these days and don't know a damn thing except how to feel good about themselves.

Now that you say that, I believe Toledo is correct. It seemed like a great idea to me. Not only does the City get it's parks mowed, but it would instill a certain amount of civic pride in those participating, too.
