My input to sports teams on name change

Don't you Texas guys let them rename the Ranger ball team. Also some outfit is wanting to rename the real Texas Rangers. It is time to fight before that happens.
As for the Cowboy football team, there are times that Cowgirls might have worked.

The new Redskin name can only be, "Washington Knees"...... but, but wait, it is only a mater of time until "Washington" is not acceptable to a minority of about 12, so go right to "D.C. Knees". There, the controversy is over..... No thanks necessary.

I'm sure that the owners picked the Team names as racial slurs................

I know I'd want my team to be identified with the weak, downtrodden and defeated..........

On the lighter side:

As Tonto said to the Lone Ranger......... "I deserve my own spin off show, where you're my sidekick "!!!!!

By the way the Pittsburgh Pirates will be the "Pittsburgh Perogies"..... we already have the mascots and a race at the 7th inning stretch.

We all need to have a little more Mel Brooks in our souls..... get your copy of "Blazing Saddles" before the DVD burning!

Mr Roger's Neighborhood is on the chopping block thanks to Mr. Mcfeely,

:D

I only follow 2 teams here in North Central Texas. I have decided a while ago, if either team changes their name, squats or kneels or play more anthems than the National Anthem I'm gone. I know it doesn't matter to anyone but me, but so be it.

First, nobody names their sports team after something that they despise. They just don't.

Assuming that numbers are safe, then maybe this is what we will see in the future.

"Mom and Dad, guess what, I was just assigned to Army Base 17."

"Hey hon, my company is transferring us to City 33. I know that we might not recoup what we spent buying a house here in Town 119, but think of the opportunity."

"Only one score to report in the MLB tonight. Team 7 beat Team 11 by a score of 3-2 with a walk-off homer in the 9th inning."

City 2 will be offended because they didn't get named #1.

It still is.... after 27 World Championships :D

There is the story of the Old Southern Gentleman, who had to have major surgery only available in the North. His kin folks went down the list and when Cleveland Clinic was mentioned he said, "That's it! Cleveland. They hate Yankees more than I do!"

Geoff
Who notes it's been a long time since Cleveland won.
