Well I've had a Glock 19 and M&P 9 pro for some time now and decided I wanted to go to one striker fired platform. I lovr both guns but to be honest the trade bug has me and I kinda want a Da/Sa gun for some range fun. At first I thought I was going to trade my M&P because of the size of the glock for carry. The fact is I just like my M&P more than the glock and decided the size difference wasn't that big of a deal. I have a good holster that concealsthe M&P just as good. So todat I'm meeting a guy to trade the glock for an older Beretta 92f that looks great. Hope I like it.

I'm not a fan of the 92F, but it is a good gun. Still, I think you made the right decision.

The grip angle on the M&P and 92F is the same. The Glock is different. So, having two guns with the same grip angle is beneficial.

The only issue with all DA/SA guns, is the two completely different trigger pulls. No doubt the SA pull is great, but usually the DA pull is very long and heavy. Since you said you would be using it for the range, then this should not be an issue, and the SA trigger will be really good for accuracy, like a 1911. The issue is using that type of gun for SD. Then you have to practice a lot, to ingrain the two different pulls.

I always thought the DA/SA gun was the way to go, as you carried loaded, but the hammer was down. Then I tried a Sig and I learned I did not like the two different pulls. I then decided I would choose only one, either the DA, or a SA pull only, no learning two different pulls in one gun. I've had both, but I prefer my Shield 40's SA only pull (there are some that would argue it is DA pull). The stock Shield had a great pull but I upgraded to an Apex trigger kit, which is even better.

Shot it yesterday and it was great. The M&P will always be my carry weapon of choice between the two.

Trade that glock for a CZ 75. Then you'll begin to question your M&P's :)

I have been wanting to give a CZ a try. I only hear great things about them. And Smitty I've owned several 1911's and have been meaning to get another. My funds can't support my gun wants so I get the trade bug from time to time.:)

I know just what your thinking. I CC my 9c, but love hammer guns a lot. I personally really like my PX4. It is not without some flaws, but all guns have their compromises IMO. The biggest flaw to the PX4 was the slide mounted safety. It was really painful after a lot of shooting.

This was fixed by getting the "stealth" or flush mount decocker only.

robkarrob is definetly right about the two different trigger pulls. Although this is definetly something that can be practiced, and is not an unreasonable thing to deal with. I have shot my 9c a ton more than my PX4 (in part because 9mm is cheaper, and in part because it is my CCW). With that said, I personally am still noticably more accurate with my PX4, despite the two different trigger pulls.

I have a Beretta 92. Mostly to have a hammer option in the collection along with the military history. Honestly the 92 is one big gun. I don't know how well other full frame metal guns compare but it's not a bad shooter, just a very big gun for only having a 15 shot capacity. Buttery smooth slide. The quality is there.

If you do get a 92, look into getting a "D" hammer spring. Made double action much more manageable.
