My Mom's B-day.

My mom, turned 92 today. My mom is in pretty good health, all things considered. She's still sharp, walks with a cane and has a decent social life.

As my mom doesn't want anything, I did buy her some Norte Dame earrings as she lost one last month. I also bought her a bunch of Lotto scratchers - she loves those things!

Since she didn't want anything material, yesterday, I cooked her favorite - posole. Posole is homie stew with Chile and herbs. To cook it, it's an all day thing. Once, the prep is done the rest of the time is just baby sitting the pot as it cooks, then simmers. It always tastes better the next day.

So today, it was the day. Posole, tortillas, lemon and an appetite --- MMMMMMM Good!!

She didn't want a b-day cake, she wanted a lemon meringue pie. It was a great day!!!

I'm happy and lucky to still have my mom. Everyday I have with her is a gift!

Material stuff is just - stuff. Especially once we reach a certain age.
But a favorite meal, prepared with love, and time spent breaking bread together, those are the kind of things that money can't buy.

You are a good son. Had a B Day party for my mom, 90. She made it 2 more months. That was in '17.

Happy birthday to your mom! Mine is 92 also. We got some good news today. She has 6 great grandkids ranging in age from 22-13 thanks to my two nieces.Today we learned a 7th is due via my daughter in law in time for her 93rd birthday [emoji4]

My mom is 87. She spends the winter in Ormond Beach. I drive down to hang out with her and eat everyday, except the days she drives to my house. She always wants Domino's pizza when she's here.

Happy birthday to your mom.. you are truly blessed to have her in your life... I lost my mother a year after I graduated from college... she was 55.. cancer... I was almost 25.. had just started dating my future wife, they never met... at 57 I am a 3 time cancer survivor.. waiting for our son to find a partner... before things start to repeat... my mother never met my grandfather.. helluva family tradition.. lol

As our parents age every moment we spend with them is special. Dad, wife and I are spending 10 days together in Florida, looking forward to it. Dads 93.
