My Mr. Coffee died.

We have a no-frills Braun coffee maker that's been around for about 20 years or so, carafe broke but wife found replacement on-line. Still works fine. Cannot be replaced as the model has been long discontinued. If this one bites the dust, will probably go with a Keurig system.

My vote is with the $19 Black&Decker from Walmart. My last one went 12 years. That's only $1.50 a year.

I am intrigued by the French press. Had to look it up. Looks like a good way to make coffee, though best to put coffee in a thermos or insulated carafe after brewing.

I might try that.

once you learn how much coffee to use to suit your own taste and strength your good to go .. We use a good Jamaican coffee called Blue Mountain we grind ourselves ..with home ground coffee in the press we've learned you don't need too use as much as you normally would with bought grounds..

With the press you'll steep the coffee for a minute or two for it to brew before using the press to remove the grounds and then your able to pour off the finished cup of coffee .. the longer its allowed to steep of course the stronger it will be come and the flavor we be more enhanced !!
