Just wanted to share with you fine folks as I have been a lurker for some time now.
At any rate here's a 2015 (Febuary-ish) 460 XVR Bone Collector #156 of 1500
It is my only gunup here in good old Alaska and I'm not worried about s**t, lol.
But anyways here is my contribution, I hope you enjoy- fb

just awesome looking, that is a fine hand cannon indeed. I have never fired one of those 460's before. I have a friend that bought a 500 a couple years ago, a short barreled one.
First day at the range his brother was standing right beside him trying to get a slow motion video of that thing as it was fired the first time.
It was freeggin hilarious because in slow motion, we all saw the fire, then the gun move all the way back to hit him, just as the camera man landed on the ground, then we saw the slow destruction of a once good camera phone. "just hold on to that puppy good before you make it bark" LOL. Once you know that recoil cant hurt you if you hold on to it good, it's all fun after that. Oh, and tell your camera man to stand back a little more too... LOL.

Got some ammo today- some 460's as shown, some 454 casul's and some
45 long Colts. Some of the 45's are cowboys and some are hot 335 grainers. I'm shipping back out to the bush for work so no range report for yet:( but I'll post up the goods plus maybe a link to some smoke! Be cool, fb

Try not to get into a consistent habit of shooting the 454's and the 45LC's IMO. There is a lot of good info that suggests shooting the shorter rounds will quickly foul the cylinder and cause the 460 mag rounds to jam and not retract (not to mention you are jumping the bullet over .500" shooting 45LC). Not sure if you handload but you should think about it as feeding your 460 beast gets very expensive with factory ammo ! You can also handload light "cowboy" plinking loads using the 460 mag casings and not have any cylinder issues.

Those are points I've read about and the validity is no doubt there... I thought to do as Ive read to first shoot the 460's then 454's then 45 lc's, in that order. Followed by a good cleanup . Then repeat:) Good that I bought the gun factory new as I have total control over this aspect of cylinder jamming..?
Hanloading is certainly in my future plans.
Btw what are you meaning when you say 45 mag? Thanks for the reminders/tips. Be cool, fb

Edited my post with correct caliber descriptions. My new favorite plinker loads are 255 swc hard cast with about 13 gr of wst powder. Have not been able to chrono this load (still too much snow) but i plan on some aquiring some 460 velocities soon.

Very cool gun. Keep the pics coming, try to shoot some without the flash. You will get a much better picture that way.

Got it on the edit thank you for clarifying. Hand loading is going to be fun.
I will make note of that particular load (scribble, scribble).
Sorry about the flash as it was rather dark and it is a black gun predominantly. When I'm back home I'll shoot some out door pics when I start pouring brass through it:)
We are now getting more light per day up here exponentially, yee haw

An interesting note folks. I did a side by side comparison of my 7 1/2" XVR Bone Collector and an 8 3/8" XVR and my barrel was longer. Apparently the 8 3/8" measurement is including the brake and doesn't stop at the end of the rifling. B.C. barrel was 1/8" to 1/4" longer. Interesting how the math works, no? Overall length was a mere 1/4" longer for the B.C. at 15 1/4". Going to do some shooting within the next week and a half or so and will have a range report to share and possibly a video. 'freeze
