:) WOW!! Nice gun congratulations. Don

Can you hunt at all with handguns there, and does that vary by state?

Are gun laws uniform across the nation? I'm guessing that NSW and Victoria might have tougher laws than South Australia or Western A. ??

Aussie44,

Nice looking 686. Had the pleasure of visiting Brisbane in 88 on an extradition. Wonderful country you have there. Had my share of Four X beer courtesy Australia's Federal Police.

If you can find a Safariland Comp II speedloader for that L frame, you might like it over the HKS. The Safariland holds the cartridges tighter and you just push the the loader against the cylinder to release the cartridges once they are started in the charge holes. If you can't find one down there, pm me and I'll get you one or two.

Very nice S&W. Don't see many of them around. Perfect deer gun with the right ammo. Shot a 586 like yours years ago and it was a tack driver.

Congrats!

No hunting with handguns allowed by law ( I think some have fractured that law :D).The gunlaws vary a little state by state. When I lived down south we could have a rifle in 50 BMG,Up here in QLD no way.Gun ownership is not as hard as people make you believe,But it's not like it use to be.
