Just got a hold of a 3913TSW "9 Tactical"! Probably overpaid at $625, but did come with 10 magazines so that made me feel better :) One question, can anyone tell me the year and other stats?

Serial #: BAW5037

With 10 mags @ $25.00/each, you didn't really over pay. You can call S&W customer service and give them the serial number. They will then tell you the month and year of manufacture.

Mine has a YJH serial number and was made in 10/2002, so yours is likely around 2000.

Good point! So, that means I actually paid $375 for it. Of course plus $50 in shipping and $30 in transfer fee. Still not too bad.

I have two so far. An IWB (Alien Gear Cloak 3.0), an OWB (Serpa CQC for the 5900). I also found a kydex holster I have for my Beretta PX4 Storm Compact fits perfectly!

Man, that is a great find! And really a pretty great price with the 10 magazines and overall condition (judging by your pictures) of the firearm. I'm a bit jealous! Looking through "the book" as I type. According to the 2016 version of the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson - 4th Edition, the values of this particular beauty are as follows:
ANIB - $750
Excellent Condition - $600
Very Good Condition - $475

In my honest opinion, I'd say you made an excellent purchase. Congrats!

They just replied. Was manufactured 4/1/2004

Excellent purchase!

You did excellent Greg ! That is a great price with all those mags, I have 8 mags now and have typically paid in the $35 to $40 range for each of them over the past couple of years. Enjoy your 3913TSW, it is a great pistol and my favorite of all the 3rd gens. It is very accurate and extremely reliable, used my 3913TSW for my annual LEOSA qualification course earlier this week.

Is that a 3914TSW??

Haha, I also think it was a safe buy (I don't think it was a steal but a solid buy for a great gun) and the ten magazines is a definite clincher.

Beware, however, with the "funny math" you used to arrive at $375. The numbers work -BUT- they don't exist unless/until you actually *gulp* sell some magazines.

This is what I have to remind myself as I ponder and shop for Model 52's. (I love 52's!) I sell multiple mags and attempt to convince myself "oh but the gun ends up at $xxxx because of those magazines!" ...uhhh "...that I myself would never pay market to get..." uhhh "...and will admit right now that I won't ever sell...!" (...sigh)

So yes, fine buy but you didn't pay $375 for the pistol UNTIL you sell off all the mags. ;)

Heh, end of "party crasher" mode! :D

Yes, definitely, your math is correct, do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Most of us that go to the range regularly end up buying extra mags, and 10 quality mags in nice shape are worth in the $250 to $400 range buying from reputable sources.

Yes, indeed it is!

You don't see many 3914TSW's (1060 units). Mine has a modified hammer and the rail removed.

Cheers!!!

Did you do the mods, or did you get it that way?

I purchased this particular 3914TSW from a forum member. He had the modifications done by the mothership and had documentation.

Cheers!!!

Very Good. If you ever decide to reinstall the rail, I bought 200 aerospace grade aluminum rivets that I used to reinstall the rail on my 3913TSW, I only used a couple and have many extras and would be happy to gift you a few.

Wow, those are beautiful! Now I'm the one who is jealous!

Very nice indeed gregma! Lucky to find one and in such nice condition. This was one of my top choices years back but went with a stainless CS-9 instead. Got to fire a Tactical 3913 at the S&W firing range back around 2000. Great gun to shoot.
