Yes, after my first trip to the range (and loading the mags) convinced me I wanted a loader. Is that particular Uplula universal model the one I should purchase for the Shield mags?

Based on the info from here I went to Gander mountain and got the Uplula.....yeah I paid a little more about $42 with tax...but I didn't want to wait...I try to shoot at least weekly. The one I got will load from (I think) .38 -.45....it works great for my 9mm Shield.

First mods gold color fill & Talon rubber grips with Pearce Grip Extensions. Glad I picked up a Maglula UpLULA Universal Pistol Magazine Loader really makes loading a breeze. The Lazer really helps with old eyes. Waiting on a Stealth Gear holster for cc.
First shoot 200 rounds with some rapid fire only 5 off the target.

I have a new Shield and loading the mags were tough! The springs are so tight and I barely got the last round in the 7 round mag. Got a loader and it is so much easier. I am sure over time this will get easier.
