This morning, I picked up a new revolver that the gun shop I frequent had been holding for me. I LOVE this gun. I have no practical use for it, but I don't care. It is a S&W 686-4 w/ 2.5" barrel. It is in excellent condition and locks up tight. The -4 was the last generation of 686 that did not use MIM parts for the hammer, trigger and some internals. It is also pre-lock. It came with a very nice set of Eagle Secret Service Grips. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I can get to the range, but I wanted to share a pic of my newest addition.

Congrats! Very nice catch. Let us know how it shoots. Regards 18DAI.

But it does have a practical use. Great bedroom gun. That's where mine is. Good looking weapon. Congrats!

I guess I worded that badly. I should have said I didn't have a practical mission for it in mind when I bought it. It would be a great bedroom gun or truck gun or backpacking gun. I just didn't need a gun to fill any of those roles. I just bought it because I wanted it.

Great defence wheelgun and a true fight-in wheelgun. 686 snubbys rock!

That's the best reason of all!
