There have been some major filters placed at my work and I no longer have access to the board when there. This is quite irritating as I could stay caught up when we had down time.

I have always prided the fact that I have been able to welcome every new member of the board, and while I will continue to try and do that, it is going to be very hard with the time constraints I have.

So I will continue to enjoy this board, but if you do not hear from me for a few days in a row do not be surprised.

Y'all take care.

A while back my Company did the same with the filter. Turned out they did not like the word GUN.

I found out to go to a search engine like dogpile, then back door the website you want. Hope this helps

If using a search engine like dogpile doesn't work, type in "proxy servers" in the search function. We had Barracuda installed at where I work, a hospital, and that worked for me. It was so bad at work that it wouldn't let you access he local news website since the word "sex" was in a story.
We finally got rid of it because a OB/GYN went onto the net to find some information on a case. When she typed in the word "vagina" it blocked all access to he site she needed. Needless to say, she was none too happy and the Barracuda filter was soon floating belly up, so to speak.

Great idea, but make sure it doesn't break any company policies. Now is not a good time to get fired.

It must be my age showing but why would I as an employer WANT you to access web sites at work?

QWest, whom my wife retired from has a set of adds running right now about how fast their new serivice is and the people in the adds now don't have to use the computer at work to play games, of whatever else they were doing that odviously wasn't work related, because the one at home is faster.

Before I retired at the Feds we had about a zillion blocks on our computers and your traffic was also monitored pretty close. If you wanted to be disciplined, down graded or sent to upper Slovolia, just log on to something that had nothing to do with work.

I had zero problem with the policy as the behavior seemed just about as unproffessional as you could get, to me.

Well I guess we know what's wrong with the economy now, it's everyone getting on the smith forum when they are supposed to be working.

Due to some people at work deciding to look at some unsavory websites and play games while they were supposed to be watching the inmates and doing their half hour checks to make sure they were all breathing, we now are limited to how much internet time we have until you get blocked out by a surf blocker. We all get a whopping ten minutes a day. Not so bad on my shift, but for those guys on the 11-7 when the inmates are all sleeping and their alone in a housing unit, it can be a downright snooze.
