My Pre-27

Hello, just wanted to show my Pre-27 with a 5" barrel that I bought and also had original box and paper. The serial # is S1208xx, I'm thinking this is around 1954. and the bluing is 95%. This may be a pass down gun to my son snd keep my 19-5 to myself.

That has a different looking front sight. Has it been filed down ?

Now since you've mentioned it, it does look filed and smoothed down. Is 1954 the correct year for it?

That's a heck of a nice gun. I love those gold boxes too. 5" is just about right for an N frame .357. Congrats on a fine purchase.

My pre-27 has. An 164XXX, and shipped October 1958. Nice revolver, a little Flitz and it should clean up nice. They are great guns to shoot, my pre-27 with the 8 3/8" is my favorite shooting iron.

With that front sight filed down. It would interesting to know how it shoots. Looks to be a nice piece, too bad it was modified in that way.
