My quick video on the 15 min trigger job

Looks Pretty good. I'm definitively going to try that this weekend, I think I'll even try the toothpaste polish, lol. I also need to trim my bolt catch spring so it looks like my rifle will be in tip top shape in a few days, cant wait.

Nice job. Looks like a quick way to get noticeable results.

Isn't "polock" spelled "polack?" Is that a Polish joke in itself?:D

good vid.. you can also bend the one leg about 30 degrees to lighten it even further. the mod you did is for a ar-15 and the 22 doesnt even need that much pressure ..

Just thought Id bring this back around. I did my trigger tonight as per the "15min trigger fix" and the set screw to take up pre-travel. It really was easy to do for those who were a bit shy about doing it. If you do the set screw first like I did , then you have to back it out again to remove the safety. Do the trigger mods ,reinstall, then put in the set screw for pretravel. The trigger is much better after these mods.Anyway, It really is easy to do.

Another tip: the newer blue springs(bolt/hammer) are lighter than the older black ones....this is for the bolt to move easier(aids in shell ejection).....so I would just bend one leg instead of clipping if you have the blue springs...or leave the hammer spring alone if you shoot picky ammo. Otherwise this will cause more FTF's with the picky stuff.

Thats a good tip i did cut my blue spring in the video I sent 1000 rds down range no ftf's yet but its still early I will let you know if i ever do have any problems

Make sure you have some backup springs just in case

I had a later model with blue springs, and after trimming the hammer spring and reassmebling I had FTF with about 50% of the time with the same ammo I had been previously using - when I stripped the gun I could see that the hammer was not hitting the pin directly, but just to one side - This may well have been because the remaining arm of the hammer spring was not seated in the ridge in the hammer pin but decided to just replace all the springs with the yellow 3.5lb springs and had a tense wait to make sure the new springs arrived (and solved the issue) for a tactical 22 AR comp I was in this weekend. Fortunately - I had 100% results with no FTF. Moral to this story - by all means try - but if you really need your gun anytime soon make sure you have backup springs on hand, or there is a local vendor which will have them readily available.

Just my luck. I have a brand new 15-22 and the trigger job and now get FTF about 2 out of 25 on 3 different types of ammo so far and the same ammo is fine on a old spring trigger job 15-22. Lol and good to hear yellow will fix the problem cause that is whats on the way.

Me personally hate to destroy my blue springs, would try if a person could buy new blue springs but I have to go with the yellow springs and save my unharmed blue springs.:p Fixed my laptop can you tell?

Try adjusting the hammer and trigger pins to make sure their relative springs are correctly seated- I even had this issue once with the yellow uncut springs.

Nice video.....

But I sure wouldn't have let anyone know that "I have polished other things with toothpaste" :p:p

Actually some types of tooth paste are a decent polishing medium for certain uses. I used it in the past to polish out a few scratches on a CD to rescue some data. Never used it on a trigger though.

But you really should floss too :)
