All the threads lately had me wanting a 38/44. This one popped up last week on GB. I noticed he had several with a "BUY NOW" so I asked him how much he would do on it. He responded pretty quick with what I thought was a good price. So here it is all cleaned up. Solid lock-up and blue is an easy 98%. Bottom of grips each have a small chip which I may have fixed, since the gun is so nice. Bill says a couple very close to this one shipped in Nov. 1935. All numbers match but the grips aren't numbered. Well, without further ado,

I was watching it too and was in contact with the seller as well, just didn't convince myself to pull the trigger! The Pre War Magnas sure are nice! :)

I'd say if the SN is 46234, it could have been shipped as early as mid-1935, but as always, guessing an exact shipping date based only upon a SN is imprecise at best.

I got one from a friend of mine in Florida, he had it for twenty five years and never shot it, last year he ran a little short on cash, and I bought it, with the proviso that if I ever wanted to get rid of it (fat chance !) he would buy it back. Beautiful revolver!

Beautiful Gun!!! I think that is the one that I saw that one on GB recently. I almost pushed the BIN button... but then I remembered that I already had more than a handful of those beauties and that others needed a shot at one for a reasonable price. I'm glad that you picked it up. It cleaned up real nice and you always do a great job with your photos.

Congrats!!!

Thanks Richard! For the first 12 hours or so this didn't have a BIN. He just started bidding at $1499. I emailed him and asked what he would take for it and he gave me a price and I thought the price was decent. He went back into the auction and changed it to a Buy Now and I immediately went in and bought it. I was looking for a pre war 38/44 and most of the auctions went out of my reach. So I was glad to get this one. Thanks for all the compliments, I can't wait to shoot it!

That is one fine looking gun.. Congrats on a great acquisition.
