My Tucker & Byrd Holster

I wanted to share with yall my "Texas Short Stroke" Holster from Tucker & Byrd GunLeather out of Houston, Texas
Tucker & Byrd along with Simply Rugged are the best leather holsters Ive ever owned -
I bought this holster for my Bul Armory Govt 1911 (the finest 1911 ive ever owned but, that's another story)
I gotta say, the fit & finish of this holster just may be the best i own.
Its funny, in ways I like Simply Rugged better than I do and in other ways, I like Tucker & Byrd better than Simply Rugged
However, if I had to choose 1 holster for my Smith's it would be the Simply Rugged 120.

Anything made by Tucker is top quality hands down...I first met William Tucker when he walked into my gun store in Conroe carrying two large trash sacks full of holsters he made...I looked at them and recognized the quality, so I took a chance on them...From that point forward he was kept busy at his one man (sometimes two when he could find someone willing to work with the cantankerous old coot) shop in Spring with orders from me and other stores in the area...After a few years he got married to a very nice lady, and eventually sold his business and retired...

The buyers wanted to keep the tradename of Tucker since it was always associated with quality, and they wished to keep the designs he came up with along with the names for the products...They also adhered to the quality standards he set for himself, but after close examination by me I just don't think it's quite the same...But they are still in business selling to independent resellers from their location in Houston...

Tucker has always been a restless soul who never had much tolerance for layabout time...Before going into the holster business he was a working cowboy and a sheriff's deputy among other professions...Charlie Byrd is an entrepreneur who decided to go into the leather business...When he found Tucker was no longer running his own business, he talked him into coming to work for him...Many people think they are business partners, but in reality Tucker works for Byrd...Charlie Byrd is smart enough to know that Tucker already had the name recognition, and when he organized his company he put Tucker's name out front before his knowing that Tucker's many return customers would come in strictly because he was there...

Tucker is there most days doing what he does best, and Charlie handles the business end and pays him a salary...Tucker's designs are the exact ones he always used along with some new innovations from his creative mind...I drove by their location in Porter today without stopping being in my usual hurry...I need to drop in and howdy at them soon though...I still use some of the holsters and belts Tucker made for me 25 years ago...I've never had the first problem with any of his products......Ben

Oh, I almost forgot!
I have an HF3 (Revolver Holster) for my 6" 27-2 being made by Tucker & Byrd
Should be done about any day now i believe

I went with Saddle Tan for the Holster Body & Black Cherry for the Tab.

I've never had a two-tone...Years back Tucker made me three HF-2's (lined of course) for a daily carry 1911 to match my Luccheses, one each in Saddle Tan, Black and Black Cherry...I still have them although the Gold Cup is safely in the care, custody and control of another now......Ben

EDIT: Matching belts too which I still wear daily...
