I just posted photos of my 3" 625 and 4" 617 and got to thinking that they are my current two favorites.
But then the two the really occupy those spots were seen on the photo hosting site I use. The 6" 29-5 Classic Hunter belonged to my father. I remember when he bought it in '93 or '94, he had won some money at the casino and this was how he spent part of it. He passed away in 2001 but I'll always have the memories and this 29.
The 4" 686-2 was a Christmas present from my wife a few years back.
These will always be my two favorites.

Beautiful amigo, thanks for the eyeball!

I love these S&W revolvers! and I have not even fired mine yet!

Nice looking Smiths! It's always better when there is some meaning attached to a gun(s).

Regards,

Jerry

It's hard to argue with those two dg. Two great revo's with even greater family ties. I'm sure you'll enjoy those for many years to come. PEN

Your wife gave you a gun? You're a lucky dog. All mine ever gave me was heartburn and a hard time.

Maybe you should try the casino once , just in memory of your dad.

Regards , Allen

That is a very good pair to have, which has some history to them. On the 29 you need to write down when and how your dad got the 29 along with the history of it sinc you got it for your family members that will have it one day. Plus a letter from the factory to top it of.

Nice full shrouds. They look good together. Family history makes them even better.

Not to hijack your thread, but, with your blessing, here's another wife-gun. In 1996, I had a M27-2 stolen (my fault!) and was really p-ssed!. Wifey must have felt sorry for me because that next Christmas, she bought me a NIB 696ND (she knew nothing about firearms/S&Ws) Of course, I stll have it.

However, sometimes she gives me heartburn and a hard time too, like Allen-frame's! Then out of the blue she'll say, "why don't you buy a new gun?" Go figure. She's a keeper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Them sure are real purdy wheel guns, Im kinda partial to the to all the little Stainless Steel beauties, Nickle too! I have a JM champion series 625.
