My wife shoots with me sometimes, but she's not really a big fan of the recoil from the 9mm or 380's. She shot one of the M&P .22 compact and said she wants one. I always obey my wife, so I bought her one today. I'm hoping that anyone who owns one of these can give me some ammo suggestions. All reviews I have seen says this gun is not very picky about ammo. Thanks in advance.

I've put 600+ rounds thru my compact since getting it earlier in the year, and surprisingly I've had no ammo issues. Have used Fed auto match and Fed champ, plus a couple CCI Mini mag varieties.
I will admit to buying only Mini mags lately as that is what my Buckmark 'prefers' but i do use the compact to help go thru any other brands i had left in the safe. So if the compact makes a range trip with me, i'm just grabbing whatever i have had sitting around to get it used up.

Seems most on here have had good luck with different ammo in their compacts, i'd maybe suggest trying a box or two of different stuff (always depending on what you can get of course) and whatever you have good luck with is the brand/style to look for

I haven't put a lot of rnds through mine only 350 so far no issues with federal, cci, remington.

I have used several brands with no trouble: CCI Mini Mags 40 gr copper round nose, Aguila Super Extra high velocity 40 gr copper round nose, Remington Golden Bullet 40 gr round nose, Winchester Super X Super speed copper round nose 40 gr. They all function well.

I prefer the Mini Mags. The Remington GB function just fine, but they are dirty.

I've been told 40gr is probably more reliable and I see that's what you've been using. I bought one box of Browning BPR 40gr to start with. Thanks for the input

Mini mags and the Aguila are very reliable. The aguila you can get very cheap on a lot of online ammo sites too.

Browning BPR is the only ammo my 22 compact didn't like. Make sure you have your safety glasses on when shooting it. At least one round from every mag peppered my face with powder. Also peppered was my support hand through the bottom of the grip's mag well. Had several FTF and FTE along with plenty of duds. This was with the 1435fps stuff.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll let you know how it goes. won't be able to shoot it for a couple of days

My wife wanted one to , so she bought one. She shoots it better than her 6906 carry gun and now that's all she wants to carry. Have shot CCI, Fed , win and rem with no issues.

I bought one for my wife. I have shot all brands and types of ammo through it (even some 35 year old stuff). Never had a single hiccup. My brother bought his wife one and she has problems with most ammo other than cci. Don't know if it's the ammo or her, as I haven't seen her shoot.
