I just won this in an auction...It looked very interesting and i won it for an incredible price... (at least I think i did).. I have not received it yet, so I only have these two pictures from the auction site... I hope someone can tell me what i have...

After I won the auction this afternoon. I got to looking at the Pics, and I notice there doesn't seem to be a "Made in USA" or even an S&W Logo... It doesn't appear to be refinished, not much of a drag line and the grips look great...And the Colof Case looks great.... The only description in the Auction was "Smith & Wesson Revolver, .32" I'll post more info, Serial and other marks when I get it, but in the mean time Does this look legitimate without an S&W Logo ????

Thanks in advance

That is a 32 Hand Ejector built on the I frame (little brother to the J frame). Others, more knowledgeable about the I/J frame can flesh out the meager skeleton I provided!

I don't have any additional pictures yet... I just won the pistol this afternoon on an "On Line" auction and those are the only pictures that I have... It will probably be a week or so before it is delivered to my FFL...

You bought it without knowing what you were buying?

No, not yet...

Does the fact that there is no "S&W" logo or a "Made in USA" stamping help to date when it might be from?

Well, yes, actually... OK, I saw the pictures.. Looked like a nice old S&W.. The Color Case on the hammer and trigger are great, the grips were great, the bluing looked nice... It was in the last 30 minutes of the auction, the high bid was well under 300... My bid was well under 300... For that much, it would be well worth it to me... But now my curiosity is peaked, and I wonder about the fact that there is no S&W Logo or Made in USA stamping...

I appreciate any help on learning about this...

I agree, likely from the WWI period. A serial number could possibly allow a little more precise dating. Both .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long ammunition can be used.

With that style of stocks, presuming they fit properly (round butt with the "rebated" rear grip strap) it is a .32 Regulation Police. The last key is the serial number on an RP will be on the front of the grip frame. A .32 HE will have it on the traditional place on the bottom of the grip frame.
