Just watched the myth busters blow up a 10 gauge double barrel built in 1877! I used to like those guys.

I've cringed more than once when they've accidentally and/or deliberately destroyed irreplaceable items.

Considering they live in RebubliK of Kalifornia, I'm not the least bit surprised they have little, if any, respect for the well being of any type of gun, or the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms.

On the other hand, the value of the few remaining 1877 Double Barrel 10 Gauge Shotguns, just went up.

I lost all respect for these clowns when they kept referring to an M1 rifle as an assault weapon! To qoute a saying I heard: "This is cheap comedy!" Dale

Not familiar with the referenced episode. Many shotguns of the black-powder era were manufactured in Belgium, etc., and were of low quality. Beyond use as a shooter, such a shotgun would have no value unless it were produced by a significant manufacturer. JMHO. Merry Christmas!!!

They gave no secs on the shot gun other than it had damascus barrels. They were trying to replicate the cartoon trick of stuffing your finger in the barrel to blow up the gun.

Entertainment pure and simple. That's all it is. If you ain't entertained anymore switch channels or do like I did a few years ago; just turn it off and leave it off. There is a reason it's called the boob tube.

They have killed a couple of fine handguns as well. I remember when they were trying to shoot the bullet into the barrel of another revolver, which instead landed on the cylinder of the opposing wheelgun, which was either an M & P or a Police Positive. They made a fast draw machine which stripped the internals of a replica 1851 Navy. But they have destroyed some nice vehicles as well. I nearly cried when they totalled that perfectly good Plymouth Fury III. I remember when they had the hood up on that car and saw the distributor up front. That wasn't a 318, it was either a 383 or a 440 in that beast. THen the Corvette they ruined by putting a dead pig in and leaving it for months. It seems they ruin everything, not just guns.

Remember the a**clowns on Guns & Ammo TV who would destroy a brand new gun on every episode and call it testing?

Emailed them a couple of times, even offered to help them design a real test and evaluation segment. Got no response.

how about the vintage Porsche they stripped to the frame and rebuilt backwards ... they seem to have something to offend everyone sooner or later.
I enjoy some of the destruction ... in testing a movie myth they flattened a good number of jeep grand Cherokees ... having driven one at 13 MPG and no fun to be had for the price .... I rather enjoyed it.

On the bright side, they have converted at least one anti-gunner. There is a Mythbusters special where all the mythbusters talk about their favorite/least favorite myth, best/worst thing that happened to them on the show, etc. Kari said that she was very anti-gun before becoming a mythbuster and was not at all happy about doing a myth involving firearms. After spending time around and shooting some guns, she said she now loves guns and her favorite type of myths are the firearm related ones.
