Just be careful using an ultrasonic cleaner on anything that is plated. It can remove nickel, silver, gold, etc. if there is any break in the finish that the microscopic bubbles can enter. If the ultrasonic vibration is strong enough I would also be cautious about some bluing since it is a controlled rusting process and the ultrasonic will remove rust also.

I second Dr Bettis-I know a prominent collector who used one on a gun and when it got through, the gun was in much worst shape!
