I don't remember the name but it is actuated by the hand pin that goes through the trigger. It holds the bolt to the rear to keep it from moving forward under severe recoil and letting the cylinder come open. It was first designed as part of the Model 29 strength upgrades.

Thanks. I did steal the pic from 500 Magnum Nut's sticky. Does anyone have a picture of the guts of a new model (mim) model 29 or 629? I just want to make sure I get this thing back together correctly. I have looked all over the web and can't find a schematic.
