I hadn't seen this before, but I have been thinking about this for some time. The following is what I would love to see.

  1. Pre-Model 27 Patton Commemorative - Bring back the Registered Magnum in a 3.5" configuration. Don't doll it up with laser engraving or gold etching. Do it right with period roll marks, a partridge sight, a square butt, a quality set of bone stocks with a correctly placed "GSP", a reproduction grip adapter, a real blue mirror finish, a reproduction box, and reproduction copies of the paperwork. Go with the original transfer bar and spur hammer, and don't add no stinkin lock.
  2. Registered Magnum - Bring back the Registered Magnum like several years ago, again with the 3.5" configuration, but then add a few bells and whistles. Put an 8-round cylinder on it cut for moon clips. I would be fine with the round butt and a nice set of target stocks and Performance Center action/trigger. No lock hole and boy I miss the old transfer bar & spur trigger system.
  3. N-Frame Snubbie Set - I am still trying to replace my 29-4 3" full lug snubbie with the Unfluted Cylinder. I believe they were a Lew Horton item with round butt and Pachmeyer stocks. Had just enough heft not to be a killer with 44 magnums. Make a run for all N-frame calibers. No lock hole and boy I miss the old transfer bar & spur trigger system.

Yes, my wish list!
M25-2 with 4" barrel.
44 magnum version of the M58.
3.5" 44 special, and 45 ACP tapered barrels.
M35 with 6" barrel.
1950 Target with 6.5" barrel.

While we are wishing here, I want a 5" real blue finish 8 shot model 27 cut for moon clips with the traditional style barrel and a gold bead patridge front sight. Also, I want no lock hole and would prefer a traditional hammer mounted firing pin. I could live with the frame mounted firing pin though, if I had to compromise anywhere. And I want a different type blue job than what they use nowadays, maybe a hot salt blue like my ACW prime Elite uses since S&W can't do their old style blue any more. And I wouldn't mind paying a good price for something like this either. I wouldn't flinch at a $2k price tag.

I too would jump at the chance to buy a new 5 inch N frame in a traditional RM-style layout. Not likely to happen, but nice to dream.

Just as an aside Garandpappy, a Partridge is a bird.

Patridge is the fella who developed the sight named after him------way back---late 19th, early 20th century---turned out to be a winner---especially after some other folks put different color beads on them----the Mcgivern being the absolute best---reflects light from almost 180 degrees behind the shooter.
