Navy Commander Relieved of Duty

Well...with the lens caps closed it's pretty clear he wasn't aiming at Anything!:D

I want to believe he had so much hubris he could not admit to not being able to see through the backward mounted scope. Who set him up and how far up or down the ladder does it go?
Accurate assessment? Don't know.

Another WAG is the near miss is the excuse the USN waiting for after the embarrassing photo went viral.

That photo reminds me of one i saw at Fort Benning years ago. Showed
2 Ranger types, all camo'ed up-with a dog-hunkered down behind an M-60-with a blank adaptor on the muzzle.

Strange? ... Yes.
But if he could be pranked in such a way, AND still fire that weapon, can you really trust his judgement?
I'm sure there's volumes more than this to support the case, but focus is on this since it was public

Good point. The few good bosses I had over the years that I respected were those that were smarter (or better educated) than me and took the time to show me the way. I never would have pranked any boss though, not even the bad ones. Life gets pretty simple once to figure out which side you're on.
