NcSTAR Mark III

I think the guy on post#37 had it figured out.

"Forget about glue and duct tape. Send it back to NcStar. They will send you a new scope. Put the new scope on your 15-22 (not a centerfire) and be happy."

Do you think my warranty is void since I used epoxy?

I duknow. Send it back to NcStar and see what happens.

By the way, where did you buy it from? Some guys like rrages.com are pretty cool to exchange or return.

eBay. The return period is past.

I guess I'll pay the $10 and send it back then pop it on the .22.

hate to hear that, should have paid the 10 in the first place IMO, it does suck to spend good money on items that arent up to snuff so to speak. sorry if you thougth i was ribbing you before just seemed like nothing could make you happy even when we tried to help.

I don't think NcStar will even notice you used epoxy unless you did so, sloppily. Regular clear epoxies don't stick to metal that great and can easily be cleaned off. I'd send it back.

There is no reason why it shouldn't hold zero and I know I'll be mighty ticked off if mine doesn't hold zero on the 22!

The first five rounds held fine, but after that, I was hitting the edges of the paper.

I'm trying to figure out if I did something wrong. The thing was on the rail tight and it felt pretty solid.

Yeah I mean it the QD mount locked down and you couldn't slide the sight front to back then it shouldn't have moved, unless the internal reticule tube shifted. I am very curious to see how mine shoots at the range. I hope it holds zero (both the scope and the red dot).

Yup, and I followed the directions for mounting to the letter.

When do you try yours out?

Beginning of the end. Thanks for the info and pics.---looks good. I am going to see what I can find locally.

Scars,

I hope I get my barrel back tomorrow. I'm sure I will get it back some time this week. When I get it back and get my rifle back together I plan to hit the range, so probably this coming Sunday.

I will do that for sure! I am going to have to sight in both the red dot and the scope, I will of course have to properly sight the scope in at 100 yards when I hit an outdoor range. My primary goal will be getting the red dot sighted in at 50' for the close up stuff, but I should be able to get a feel for if the scope is going to hold.

I'm sure the scope will hold zero on a.22... well....as long as it doesn't fall off the rail...:p

I dunno, everyone keeps saying these things are junk, it might not even hold zero on a bb gun! (Actually, there are some air pellet rifles that have more recoil than a 22lr so that may be a factual statement!)

Last night before I went to the range, I bore sighting my gun and then today, after I got back from the range, it was way off again. I'm still trying to figure out what happened.

I'd love to get my .22 sent back to S&W so I could get it repaired and sent back to me, then test this out with my .22 before I send it in for repair.

LOL!

Looking forward to a glowing report for both rifle and scope. Go have some fun!

I got an idea.... while you're waiting on the 15-22.... maybe pickup a Ruger or Sig... or :)

Looks like your reticle is a bit off kilter compared to the charging handle ...

Love the image/lack of magnification ... Unless I find someone giving away the 1-4x Burris, I think one of these will be on top of my gun after the next gun show. (I think the one conclusion I've come to out of all this is to buy one in person and make sure it's right before buying)
