NE Ohio Bunch---Fall Meeting NOW with pictures

The September meeting is in the collectors lounge, was hoping to get back some of the East Coast people or at least a good word from people so we can get some new people that were hesitant to join us. Traveling 6 or more hours would be tough and I have to give credit to the ones that came. Made a couple phone calls and snagged a few more that sounded interested. Abt 1 and a half months left. Larry

As I said above it's an "easy" 2 hour drive from Pittsburgh on the Pa. and Ohio Turnpikes....... because I was carrying I got a Sheetz coffee, some oldies radio, set the cruise control.....and watched the country roll by.

At the Ohio end it's only a couple of miles off the Turnpike and IIRC 2 turns........ and a Sheetz to fill up (with cheap gas) for the trip home.

Fun time and I plan to do it again.

It's lunch at work and it's Friday eve. If anyone sees some of the people from the group, PM them so they know we're having another bunch. Tell them to reply here so everyone can see they know. Hope the southern Florida group did OK and is growing. Will be in Dayton this weekend, Larry

Lets bump this back up for Larry and Jim and all the members of the "NE Ohio Bunch".

Six weeks from today, let the countdown begin!! Looking forward to seeing some old friends, and making some new ones as well.

See you all there, Bob.

On the way down to Dayton we stopped in the Cabelas area to find quick food to keep traveling. There is a field & stream across the street which should also have guns. If you wanted to travel to Cabelas and never did, here's a second close reason to go. Have a good Sunday, Larry

When I go to Carowinds/Charlotte NC to ride rollercoasters, there's a new Cabellas on Carowinds Boulevard. Rollercoasters and guns, can't beat it. I also time my trips to coincide with the C&E gun shows in Charlotte,Concord,Raleigh, and Winston-Salem. They're good sized shows,600-1000 tables.
A similar situation occurs for going down to Kings Island,FFF in Ashland and Cabellas in C-bus and sometimes the C&E C-bus gun show.

Hello Larry,
Giving this a bump and congratulations on the pending retirement. Retirement isn`t as good as they say it is,its a whole lot better.Sad to say l can`t make the trip this time but will look forward to the next one.For anyone on the fence about attending do it,you would be hard pressed to find a nicer group.
Dave

Thanks Dave, we'll miss you at the group. You fit in nicely, the few times Browns and Steelers fans can get together and enjoy each other's company. In the spring we had someone come for the first time and may come back again. Talked with him on the phone and he hunts with a Holland and Holland 20 ga side lock. Sent pics to me of it and if he comes I asked him to bring it. Would love to throw it up a few times and see first rate quality, hopefully he'll take a break from hunting with it. The Mule may be at the group. Where is Moonman??? Looks like rain, Larry

First part is ........true.....sorry you can't make it Dave............but then

...... well....... let's not go overboard here.........this "Bunch" will be during football season.............well......don't know.............. at least you're not Baltimore Ravens fans..........but..... but ....... need to think on this........................................................................................................................................

Let me get back to you........................

Bam-Bam, actually since the Browns came back, it's hard to get excited abt them. Lived on a farm in New Alexandria Pa. For 2 yrs after the Navy using the GI bill for auto repair in the mid 70's. The rival was very much alive on the farm and we had a blast on Sundays. No hard feelings either way. We actually want to visit this year, been 40 yrs. time flies!!!!! Good people with big hearts, different life in the country. Also, you had something in the sandwich thread, Jim last fall made fried balogna sandwiches with eggs on them!! They disappeared as fast as they were put on the bar. Larry

...... well except for Lent...then it's the...The Original Oyster House ( founded; 18something) for a Fish Sandwich....

See you on the 26th!

Love them sandwiches Jim made and his Italian Sausages where great as well. Just Saying!

Thanks Bob, hope I remember the ice this time. Only had 3 notes to remember it. Could use one more cooler, if someone could bring one, less work with 2 of em. Can't wait to see Tom's engraved guns, the detail is amazing. I'll bring my 5" model 27 from a Florida cop that I bought from 410bore. It's a Polish pinto, blued cyl and re-nickeled frame & bbl. Shoots good and was cheap, Larry
