NE Ohio Bunch fall meeting

Hi Bob, the 3" guns are very unique and desirable. If you have different calibers, you may want to do only certain ones. There will be more bunches cause I like doin them. Maybe start out with a smaller display to get your feet wet then at the next one, you can do another caliber. This way you won't repeat the same guns and feel comfortable with the next display. You may go broke buying another 10 guns for a new display. Your 3" guns will draw attention. Bruce, enjoy you're new gun, did you shoot it yet? Larry

Thanks Larry, that is an excellent idea!! I do believe I'll will take your advice.

I think I will start by displaying the 44 Magnums. For whatever reason there seem to be more variants of them than any other caliber. They could make up a collection all on there own.

This works out well for me since I have more documentation on the 44 Magnums than the others.

Looking forward to seeing you and the other members of "the bunch" again.

Be well, best regards, Bob.:)

Just a note that Joe Rogalski (not sure of the spelling) past away on Friday. Sort of a quiet person but would help anyone in the shooting sports. Met him years ago shooting bullseye. He was a NOSC member and will be missed. He liked his Smiths, RIP Joe. Larry

Goin to the LGS today, hopefully will be off by 3 PM. Looks like a good weekend so get out and enjoy it. Remember, I'll have the plates, bowls and plastic forks etc. Larry

Hi Keith, talked with Bob from Philadelphia today and he is planning on attending. Big model 29 collector. Also talked to Tom H with the great I & J frames and he'll be there. They may get together and do a display together. Both have been collecting for a long time. I'll let you all know what they'll show us when Tom calls me. Dan T has a gun show in Ashtabula that weekend, we'll miss him. A good regular for us. I'll be at blossom tonite for a Cleve Orchestra doing a Beatles tribute. Should be fun, Larry

Thanks Ollie, a new member to be called to nite. He's a retired police officer. Been into Smiths since the 50's. His daughter came into the shop and I found out he collects what we like. Larry

His knowledge could make him a good addition to the group. Got a call from someone I met at the symposium in Columbus that lives in the Warren area. SWCA member headed our way. Scooter1 from Virginia PM'd me that he may make the trip also. Great to see some out of state interest. Remember that I have no clue how many will be at the meeting till that day. There will be a bucket for FORUM DONATIONS also to help the cause. Met Lee ( the forum owner) in Columbus also, not sure what I expected but what a nice laid back friendly and helpful person. Larry

I'll be in Dayton this weekend visiting the grand daughter. Can't make the Medina show, saying good bye to our youngest son with a small get to gether. He'll be in Afghanistan for 6-8 months starting in Oct. What a shame, we'll miss him. . Larry

Larry it sounds like some great displays this year. Nice work and thanks to those who are displaying, it's a lot of work.
MY K22 is almost done at the restorers. I should have it back this coming week. It's my birthday gun...1957. If the job is good I will bring it. If not I won't embarrass myself. I have never used this guy before.

Mike

Be nice to see the K-22, I remember pics of it before it was done. Seems some of the regulars aren't posting this time. This weekend, like most long ones is passing by fast. Grand daughter is cute, just learning to talk. Wish I had her energy, Larry

Hey Jack, where you been? You're usually toward the top of the post if not the first responder. Everything OK? Glad to see some new people attending but a few of the regulars will miss this one bc of other commitments. Catch them in the spring. Hope every body had a great labor day weekend. Larry
