Hi there everyone, new kid on the block, been brousing around and decided to jump in with my first post.
Some time ago I made a bad reloading boo boo and bulged a chamber in my pristine 27-2. I had to take a drift pin to remove the case and when I micked the chamber I saw it was bulged. Rats.
Oh well, I called S&W and they can put a new cylinder on it, but it wont be the old style with recessed chambers, so before I send it to them I thought I would see if there is anyone out there that might be able to steer me to a used cylinder.
Thanks in advance.

Numrich? Brownell's? There was also a nice lady at S&W CS that gave me a good hook up for older parts. ...but don't have it handy...

You will find it on the shelf next the the Hen's teeth. They are hard to find, someone here may have one hid-a-way.

There have been numerous ones sold in the classified. Our Members have lots of parts.
Put a "WTB" ad in appropriate classified section and be patient - one will show up

Good luck with your search

jrc1961: E mail me............Dont worry mine is complete. Ejector and rod as it came with....

Be aware, cylinders DO NOT just "drop in".
An ejector must be fitted to the cylinder, then that assembly is fitted to the frame.

There's a number of fitting steps and checks that have to be done to do the job right.
Don't be surprised if you buy a used cylinder if it either won't snap into the frame at all, or doesn't fit or function properly.

If you can find a good used cylinder, S&W or a really competent pistolsmith who knows cylinder fitting "may" be able to install it properly as long as the ejector can can be fitted to the replacement cylinder.

Revolvers are "old school".
Unlike automatic pistols, many major components of revolvers are hand fitted and can't just be changed out at will.

Sometimes they do!

I bought a model 28 complete cylinder assemby two years ago from a Forum member. I put it in my Highway Patrolman and have shot atleast 3000 rounds since - timing is perfect. I think it's because of my love and dedication to H.P's

measure the length of your cyl try to find one thats longer, that way you can face it to the right lenth.or longer for a tighter cyl gap.
