Hello All-

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a quality Seattle / Tacoma area revolver smith. I have recently relocated to Tacoma, Washington from NYC and I am enjoying my new found freedoms. Washington state's laws are not perfect, but compared to NYC...it's like getting out of jail, (not that I have a reference point for that...:)

Any solid recommendations anyone may have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I asked this question a year ago and never really got an answer. There is a guy in Bremerton that is suposed to be one of the best but he will have your revolver for months for a simple job. He is that busy. His name is Ed Lapoure. I am not sure of the spelling but if you do a google search for gunsmith bremerton you will find him. You might just be better off sending your work to the factory. That is what I ended up doing and was very happy and the price was pretty good.

Good luck, and if you find somebody please let me know. I have a 629 and 686 that need some minor work that I would love to have done local.

Thanks for the fast reply, I will check that reco' out. If it turns out to be gold or I find someone Washington-local that I like, I won't keep it a secret.
I don't think you went wrong with going S&W factory for your repair needs, in a way...it almost insures the value of your wheel-gun. You can never go wrong with the guys who make them.

Try Wade's gun Shop in Bellevue. I don't recall the guys name. He did prompt, quality work for me about 4 years ago.

Gunsmith in Marysville

I met Rick from Rick's Classic Gunsmithing at 425-319-8150 last week. He can get a price list to you. If you don't mind mailing your piece, try Mel Doyle in Plummer, ID at 208-686-1006. I've used Mel several times and he's both good and inexpensive. Good luck!
