Need a little help - 1911 or NG 327

Dont Get Rid Of The 1911!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't, I did however take a look at the 327 NG. I don't know what S&W was thinking when they chose to put that grip on it. Maybe I'll end up with a 327 NG but it won't wear the stock grip.

I have been addicted to S&W revolvers for 42years but there has always been at least one 1911 in the mix usually more. If your Springfield is reliable and shoots good for you Keep IT there is nothing wrong with having a gun just for you. It sounds like you have some other revolvers for the family so problem solved

Glad to hear that you still have the 1911. This can be your personal gun and the longer you spend with it, and spend time at the range with it, the more you will appreciate it's value and capabilities.

A gun not being shot is an expensive paper weight. I've had my share of sentimental favorites and safe queens that I gradually turned over into guns that I enjoy shooting and carrying, rather than gazing at. If the firearm isn't priceless, I say get rid of it and find something that you will shoot on a regular basis. There are a lot of solid 1911s out there, and most can be had without looking too hard. NGs on the other hand are getting tougher to locate in pristine condition.
