Hi, I'm a newbie here at least this is my first posting.
I have a S&W Model 36. I've had it for several years and occasionally it would misfire ,that is the primer wouldn't have a deep dent in it. It only happened once in a great while so I lived with it. Lately it happens frequently almost once or twice a cylinder full. The hammer was bobbed when I bought it but it worked before. I've tried several brands of ammo and including my reloads which it never failed to fire before. Firing pin seems okay, a little loose perhaps. I was wondering if I should replace the spring get one that has more pressure. I would hate to have to replace the hammer as its so handy with the bobbed hammer. Would be nice if it was 100% reliable so I could carry it sometimes instead of my Glock 26.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Thanks for your reply. Do you know what the standard spring is? I checked Wolff Springs and they give several different #s. OOPS went back to the site and found it 8.5 lbs. Thanks again!!!!
Probably time for a new main spring (standard power, no need for extra power) and a good internal cleaning.

Photo man is right on. If it has had a lot of rounds you could also have some end shake too. Might need. Trip to a good gunsmith. I assume your safety check is good

Actually it was a safe queen with very few rounds put throught it. Just has a slight turn mark on the cylinder. Always had that rather light trigger pull and what I believe a light hammer fall. Thinking back I had some military ball ammo that it wouldn't fire at all but all those same rounds worked in my S&W 66.
