My Uncle gave me as a gift (Bless his Heart!) a 1965 vintage Marlin 336 in .35 Remington caliber, a really neat gun with some pretty wood that has darkened a little bit from age, some hunting and handling marks, but altogether a good looking rifle. Shoots and functions fine.

One problem: It is missing the rear sight elevator, I ordered one from Marlin, but it doesn't fit. Apparently, the earlier rifles have a thinner rear sight elevator. I compared rear sights with another Marlin 336 I own,(this one from the late 1990's) and the cutout on the rear sight to accomadate the elevator is much wider.

So, anyone out there have a rear sight elevator that will fit my rifle that I might purchase from you? The serial number on the rifle is AA17534....

Thank you,

sight elevator

We manufacture several sight elevators. Many are .105" thick, but one we make is .075" thick. Do you have a way to accurately measure the width of the slot where the elevator slides? Our sight elevators are not stamped we Wire EDM our parts for much higher precision, square edges and no burrs. We make them from 1075 spring tempered steel. Send an e-mail if you need help.
